What a Lineup !

Sometimes more storage isn’t about adding more racking — it’s about making the space you already have work harder.

Next stop on our Hamilton visit was Gallagher, a genuine New Zealand success story with innovative products recognised around the world.

At their central Hamilton HQ, it was great to see how a mix of Liftrucks-supplied equipment is helping optimise both warehouse space and day-to-day pallet movement.

The fleet includes brand-new Bendi B420 articulated forklift's, EP EQUIPMENT JX1's and an fully electric EFL303, fitted with a double pallet handler and fully enclosed cabin.

But one of the most interesting takeaways from our visit wasn’t simply about the equipment.

Gallagher has transitioned areas of its warehouse from double-deep racking back to single-depth storage and, somewhat counter-intuitively, has actually achieved a marked improvement in usable storage and overall efficiency.

Why?
Because every pallet is now directly accessible.
No moving one pallet to get to another.
No double or triple handling.
No unnecessary reshuffling just to complete a pick.

Combined with equipment like the Bendi B420, which allows high-density storage while operating in very narrow aisles, the result is a warehouse where space utilisation and pallet accessibility work together rather than against each other.

🚥 And in a high-rack, narrow-aisle environment, efficiency has to go hand in hand with safety. 🚥

🦺 All MHE onsite have been fitted with the Liftrucks SmartVision pedestrian warning and avoidance system, helping operators maintain awareness of pedestrians around the machine and keeping safety front of mind in areas where visibility and space can be restricted.

Add the manoeuvrability of the JX1's and the productivity of the Li-ion EFL303 with its double pallet handler, and it’s a great example of how the right MHE strategy can improve much more than simply moving pallets from A to B.

Sometimes warehouse optimisation means looking at the whole operation- racking, accessibility, equipment, safety, running cost and pallet movements as one system.
